Canadian Higher Education publishers are beating back inflation and supporting student success with advanced digital resources this back-to-school. In a time when prices for virtually everything are on the rise, Canadian publishers are helping to reduce the financial burden on students.
After adjusting to real dollar values and inflation, the cost of published course materials — including digital resources, traditional textbooks and blended packages — has decreased by more than 30 per cent over the past decade. In direct contrast, the cost of living in Canada increased 25 per cent over that same period.
