COVID-19’s impact on Publishing

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant disruption to many aspects of the publishing industry. CPC has been working with government authorities to encourage support for the on-line sales and delivery of print and digital published works at this time. To date, Canadian supply chains have been maintained and are operating within the mandated guidelines for safe conduct, including social distancing. Many initiatives have been undertaken to support authors, students and readers, including the provision of learning materials on-line by our major Educational publishers, to provide students and instructors with key resources as they transition to distance learning. While many events in the publishing sector, such as festivals and key meetings, have been cancelled, postponed, or moved to ‘virtual’ formats, CPC’s members remain committed to serving authors and readers to the best extent in current circumstances.
